The Neighborhood Nip Foundation is commemorating the fifth anniversary of Ermias Joseph Ashgedom’s passing with a Tribute Book. This book will pay tribute to Nipsey Hussle, acknowledging him as a humanitarian, rapper, entrepreneur, father, husband, son, brother, and king.
Hussle, a native of Los Angeles, was not only a talented lyricist and hip-hop artist but also an entrepreneur, actor, and passionate activist dedicated to fostering unity and progress within the South Los Angeles community.
Nipsey Hussle
A special tribute book (Keepsake) is currently underway in honor of Ermias Joseph Asghedom, known professionally as Nipsey Hussle, was an American rapper, songwriter, entrepreneur, and community activist. He was born on August 15, 1985, in Los Angeles, California, and grew up in the Crenshaw neighborhood. Nipsey gained recognition for his mixtapes, notably “The Marathon” series, which helped establish him as a prominent figure in the West Coast hip-hop scene.
He released his debut studio album, "Victory Lap," in 2018, which received critical acclaim and earned him a nomination for Best Rap Album at the Grammy Awards. Beyond his music career, Nipsey was also known for his entrepreneurial endeavors, particularly his investments in his community.

Hussle was dedicated to empowering and uplifting the South Los Angeles area, where he grew up, through various initiatives including investing in local businesses, providing job opportunities, and advocating for educational and economic development. Tragically, Nipsey Hussle was shot and killed on March 31, 2019, outside his clothing store, Marathon Clothing, in Los Angeles. His death sent shockwaves through the music industry and beyond, prompting an outpouring of tributes from fans, fellow artists, and public figures. Nipsey’s legacy continues to live on through his music, his contributions to his community, and the impact he had on those who admired him.
